A New Chapter...

It has been almost four years since my last post. Life has changed completely for me, and I couldn't be happier where I am. Today I am 56 days away from my wedding, I'm working part-time as a receptionist for Donaldson Company, and I'm in the process of applying for the Surgical Tech program at school.

I always dreamed of finding my soulmate and having my fairytale wedding, and I'm finally getting it. Jason and I were both working for the same company, Donaldson, when we met. He was a welder and I was the receptionist. I walked by him in the hall one day, and I apparently caught his eye. He sent me a friend request on Facebook, and we started messaging each other. After about a month of texting and talking at work, I agreed to go to the Christmas parade in the town he lives in. I still wasn't really sure about him, so I asked my sister, Taylor, and her boyfriend, Jason, to come with us. I still get made fun of for dragging them along on our "first date". We really hit it off, and we spent every day after that together.

The following year on Christmas Eve, after a long day of Christmas festivities with my family, it was time for Jason and I to exchange gifts with each other. After opening the presents, we decided to go ahead and get our stockings. When I picked mine up, I felt a large lump in the stocking, and automatically thought it was a chocolate orange. So as Jason watched, I went through my stocking pulling out candy and a gift card. Then I pulled out a small box wrapped in gold paper and realized it wasn't a chocolate orange. Being the blonde at heart that I am, I thought to myself, "Yay! Diamond earrings!"  I unwrapped the box and opened it. Inside was diamonds, but not the earrings. I was in shock. I stared at the ring, then at Jason, then back at the ring. Jason asked me to marry him and of course I said yes. And so began the long and stressful journey of planning a wedding.

If no one has ever told you before, planning a wedding isn't all fun and games. It has been one of the most detailed and stressful things I've ever planned, but I know that day in two months when I walk down the aisle and marry Jason, it will all be worth it. We have been engaged for over a year now, which is a good and bad thing. A long engagement allows time to make decisions and save up all that money, but boy does time drag by. I don't know what I would do without my mom being here and being my personal wedding planner. She has kept me mostly sane, and helped me stay on track with all of the details and decisions that have to be made. And having both of my sisters helping and being there for me means so much. Growing up, we were never all really close with each other. But now that we're all grown, we're really close and I couldn't be more thankful.

So since there are so many big things going on in my life right now, like my wedding and my journey as a newlywed, and starting school for my Surg Tech degree, I decided to start blogging again so I can one day look back and remember all of this as much as I can.

First Post

This is my first post so I guess I'll introduce myself. I'm Tiffany and I'm 20 years old (98 days until I'm 21). I work for Mando, a Korean automotive company, and I love it. I'm not in school at the moment but I plan on going back next spring, I'm just trying to figure out my major. Right now I want to be a department store buyer or a fashion merchandiser, so I'm looking further into both of them. I have two sisters, I'm the middle child. My older sister, Tori, is currently planning her wedding, which is going to be on May 23rd. She is marrying a wonderful guy and I can't wait to have a brother! I'm the maid of honor and my younger sister is the other bridesmaid. My younger sister, Taylor, is a junior in high school. Right now she is in show choir so she has been traveling the eastern U.S. competing in competitions. I love going to her competitions and watching all of the showchoirs! I absolutely love kids, and I cannot wait to get married and start a family, but until I meet Prince Charming I'm working on Sundays and Wednesdays at my church in the nursery so I can be around kids. Even though they aren't my kids, I love them like they're mine.

I'm going to Fort Morgan next week with 11 other people for Spring Break! I'm so excited! It's about time I get a break from work, family, and Opelika. If this Spring Break is any bit as good as last year I'm in for a treat!
